I'd finally gotten to watch Stairway to Heaven which Huishan passed to me. And the first few discs are able to make me cry. It was just really too touching.

I realised that it was rather typical of Korean movies to have childhood/teenage segments in the beginning. It was usually for the male & female leads to be 青梅竹马. Something happened which caused them to be apart and after a few years, they'd reunited and be together again. The general/typical outline would be something like that....

Which makes me wonder about the years they spents apart individually. Won't they meet someone new along the way? What is it that makes them realised so early that they were meant for each other at such a tender age like maybe 14-16? Hmm...

I only managed to watch the first 6 disc and the front part during their teenager years really stung my heart. It was absolutely heart warming yet heart wrenching...

Han Jung Seo 韩静书 & Cha Seung Jun 车诚俊 are childhood sweethearts who knew each other since young. But Jung Seo's mother passed away and his father remarried. Jung Seo's stepmother has 2 kids, Yuri & Tae Hwa who lived together with Han family.

Park Shin Hye plays young Jung Seo while Choi Ji Woo plays adult Jung Seo. Unknown child actor plays young Seung Jun, Kwon Sang Woo plays adult Seung Jun. Kim Tae Hee plays adult Yuri. Lee Wan plays young Tae Hwa. In real life, Lee Wan is younger brother of Kim Tae Hee.

Like a typical cinderella story, stepmother is a scheming & manipulative woman who ill-treat Jung Seo behind her father's back. Yuri also bullied Jung Seo in school.

Seung Jun is some big amusement/entertainment corporation 大企业的接班人 and the stepmother had been eyeing his wealth and hoped her daughter would get near him and eventually marries him. She tried all ways & means to keep Jeong Seo away from Seung Jun. But alas, Seung Jun had to go overseas to persue his education and would have to leave Jeong Seo and he asked her to wait for him...

Tae Hwa is somewhat autistic in the beginning, he do not like his old life with his drunkard dad and living with his new father. He always keeps everything to himself and isn't on good terms with either his mother or his sister, Yuri. He was a loner and his mother always locked him in the storeroom, nobody cares for him. Nobody except Jung Seo.

That was where my favourite part of the story so far was. Tae Hwa beginning to see Jung Seo in a new light after she made a scraf & cooked a meal for him on his birthday. His own biological mother & sister didn't even remembered at all, they couldn't even care less about him. Only Jung Seo was willing to show care & concern for him.

From that day onwards, Tae Hwa would wait for Jung Seo to finish school and go home together, he'd help her carry her bag and bring umbrella for her on rainy days. As Tae Hwa loves drawing, he'd always be seating by the balcony and draw Jeong Seo while she do her household chores. He'd fold all the drawings he'd drawn of Jung Seo into paper planes and threw it to her. He'd piggyback her to the clinic when she falls sick. His affection for Jeong Seo is shown through these unspoken medium which made it so sweet....

"Oppa, saeng il chukhahae."

As the story moved in, I wonder why Jung Seo was so pitiful? Why? It wasn't easy to finally be with her Seung Jun oppa and she had to be blind - as in, her eyes are literally going blind as she lost her vision of sight.

Taehwa had planned to donate his eyes to her...why? Why???

Taehwa said, "静书让我了解到什么是幸福. 因为有静书的存在于陪伴, 我才是幸福的. 我不希望静书感到不幸."

It was obvious what he planned to do...I really couldn't bear to watch it. Cried like hell when Taehwa was writing a 'future letter' to Jung Seo and also photo edited the photos of a him & a Caucasian lady cos he lied to her that he'd be pursuing an Artist's career in France...SO SSSAAADDDD....

Be prepared to cry buckets almost every episode till the end....
